Our Views on Viewing
We have always received slack from our peers about how we approach TV viewing in our household. We're very particular about what our children watch for very particular reasons. I won't get into it here, but there are shows they just can't watch plain and simple.
I found an excellent resource to help us in our defense. Not that our decisions should be defended, mind you, but it's much easier than having the same arguments with other adults over and over again. Which is strange because our children don't protest at all . . . just these adults . . . interesting. Anyway, here's the resource:
What are your TV viewing thoughts and decisions? Our children usually watch one hour or less per day (some days, the TV doesn't go on at all because they're having too much fun doing something else to notice). Do you receive a lot of flack from your peers about your decisions or the basis of your decisions?
