Summer Learning Program
May 20th 2008 16:46
Summer around here is typically very busy. We've always tried to keep the kids interested, engaged, and educated to ward off boredom and prevent brain drain. This year, because the kids are a bit older, we're starting a summer learning program.
Yesterday, we received our first shipment of books. The kids were thrilled to see an assortment of craft books, workbooks, recipe books, and how-to books. (My oldest was partial to the book about how to write stories). We spent the afternoon exploring the books and talking about what this summer is going to be like.
There are two other book shipments we're waiting for. Trust me, I was able to get these books at rock bottom prices through bookclub memeberships. I don't want to promote any particular club, but they're plentiful online. I was able to get $100.00 worth of books for $35.00 (including shipping!) from this particular club. The other two clubs were selling books that are typically $11.99 - $16.99 each for $.89 - $2.99 with free shipping!
The bottom line: hunt for deals and have a great summer!
