Our Own Workbooks
May 20th 2008 17:01
I have a terrible time finding workbooks that cater to the ages of our children without buying a lot of them. We have a six, seven, and eight year old (two boys, and one girl) with interests and abilities all over the spectrum. What works for one child is very boring for the other and so on.
Rather than continuing to beat my head against my desk, I decided to create our own summer learning workbooks this year. I did a simple search using google.com and found dozens of free printable worksheets by age group. I saved several on to my computer (I knew they'd want to do these particular worksheets more than once) and I printed out several.
My plan is to find several for each day we're going to work on "homework" this summer. That way, they'll have something different to do during each session (as well as plenty of repeats for whatever ones interest them). I'm going to bind them up at the copy center with journal pages. When we're finished, we'll have a great set of memories preserved!
