I Need Mommy Motivation Today!

My motivation is waning this morning. By this time yesterday, nearly half of my to-do list was completed. Today, this plan was squelched by a trip out of town to run errands. It’s days like today when I wish we didn’t live in the middle of nowhere. (Despite the fact that I love the quiet and how “safe” it feels.)
My to do list is rambling today, as usual. In addition to my regular workday tasks, I’ve been emailing responses to my nephew’s teachers. Handling his homework situations have managed to seep into my daily “clerical” work, it seems. I’m hoping to get him back on task (he was absent to days this past week) this weekend, but it’s going to be a challenge.
Thinking about this reality (being a “reality mom” is hard work, don’t forget that) is exhausting me, but it won’t beat me down. I’m resourceful, so I’ve already made the necessary calls for support this morning. So, it’ll be busy without that feeling of impossibility. Thank goodness my other three children aren’t at the age where homework is assigned on Fridays yet!
