Following My Own Advice
July 18th 2008 16:17
For the past couple of weeks, I've been offering advice here and there to other moms looking to reconnect with themselves. The biggest piece of advice I've been able to offer (because it works best for me) is keeping a journal, but to take it one step further.
Here's what you'll need:
1: a blank journal (with or without ruled pages, it doesn't matter)
2: stack of old (or new, whatever you want) magazines
3: glue stick or rubber cement
4: scissors
5: black sharpie or gel pen

Sift through the magazines and either tear or cut out everything that makes you happy, fits in with what's on your mind, or is similar to something you're going through. I need to take some "me" time and follow my own advice. I've found that working in a journal (I often refer to it as an art journal) really helps me reconnect with myself and clear my mind.
Do you keep a journal?
