Disappointments: How Do You Handle Them?

No one likes to see his or her child experience disappointments, particularly when it comes to something that is out of our control. There are times, though, when we are the ones disappointing our children for one reason or another. It could be a discipline issue, saying no when they don’t want to hear that answer, or any number of reasons.
How do you handle this disappointment?
I bring this up because my oldest son was disciplined this morning and I could see the disappointment on his face. I knew it had to be done because children need to be taught, no matter how hard it is. It wrenched my heart inside to see his remorse of the situation, but I had to stand strong and follow-through.
