The Holidays Are Here!

Ok, so this year I had to put on my "Big Girl" pants and host the family Thanksgiving dinner at our house. Mind you, this was 19 adults and 2 kids. Yep, that's 21 people! It happened unintentionally when my sister in law invited her in-laws because she didn't want to leave anyone out. Her and my brother in law live with his parents right now to help pay off some debt. Anyways, she invited them without really asking...long story.
So, it turned out nice. Really. Ok, except for the fact that my mother in law called the night before crying because she didn't have a confirmation number and therefore no ticket out here. We told her to call the airlines and another long story short, they got the last 2 tickets on the plane. Everything went as planned on Thanksgiving. Then when my husband and cousin were trying to carve and turkey, my MIL was trying to get into everyone's way. Mind you, I don't have the biggest kitchen, so my temper was flaring. I kept it under control and asked her nicely to step out for a bit. See, she was trying to get her cranberry mold out of the mold and it was sticking. She somehow found another one of my bathroom towels, wetted it, and tried using it to "loosen" the mold. Yeah, that didn't work. Anyhoo, we ended up eating about an hour later than I planned, but everyone had a good time. All 21 of us.
Now for Christmas, it will be a lot less hectic. Meaning, no in-laws flying in from anywhere. Oh, but the 31st is my little guy's first birthday!
